Release Notes - October 14, 2015

Annotations, comments per page, spreadsheets, documents, drawings!

Today's release is big one! We have completely revamped the annotation experience and we think it's awesome. We want to thank Amy and Emily for their feedback - we listened and hope you will be psyched.

Literally there are enhancements everywhere, so let's start at the top and work our way down. First, you will see a new dark purple bar, with the file name and 4 important icons: (1) the current editors of the document (it will open a popup and show who's looking at the doc with you) (2) a download button (3) share icon (4) more options.

We reworked the file-renaming process. To rename the file just click the file name and a popup will appear. Easy peasy.

Also notice the new annotation toolbar. In addition to restyling it, we have temporarily removed one of the options, a textbox, from the toolbar ... why? because we hated it. We are rewriting a new text box control that makes sense, is multi-line, and not flaky. It's coming very soon.

Drawing shapes is now easier than ever. You can just click on a shape then click on the page and it will appear. You can resize it afterwards. Of course you can still do it the old way of drag and hold.

Note that when a shape is selected, you will see a new menu that appears for formatting that shape.

To attach a comment to the shape, just click the Add Comment Button.

Now to the bottom footer.

The first thing to notice is page number and arrows which allow you to easily move up and down. But the new super cool features is the ability to add comments to any page of a multipage document. Just click that icon to the left of page number.

As you scroll through the document pages, the page-comments will automatically reflect the current page. If there aren't any comments, just start typing. Everything is saved with each character press. Note: Anyone who can see that file can see the comments.

Also note the new nifty drag handles for resizing, and the wider scrollbars for easier mouse control.

Plus everything now is styled with more modern icons ... it feels like a fresh coat of paint. If you see anything funky, want to see new features, we'd love to hear your feedback - just click the feedback button in the bottom left of the Brim app and let us know!

HAPPY BRIMMING!
